Getting Your House Ready To Sell

Hello Again,
If you're thinking of selling your house, one relatively small step you can take to liven it up and make it more attractive to potential buyers is to give the carpets a good clean up.
House buying isn't all about first impressions but they certainly go a long way. Anyone coming to view your home will be looking at it with a very critical eye and if they are greeted by a dirty hall carpet, or a stained sitting room carpet, then they'll immediately be thinking that if they buy the house, then they'll need to replace the carpets and if they have to do that, they'll be looking to recoup the cost from the initial asking price.
So, don't hand your potential buyers a bargaining chip. Spend a few quid getting the carpets cleaned just before you put your house on the market and put yourself in a stronger selling position.

All the best for today.

Guy

PS. Remember if you know anyone selling their house, you could be helping them by giving them one of our "refer a friend" cards and you'll be putting yourself in the prize draw as well.

Referral Ideas

Hello again,
I get enquiries at least once a week from people who have had building work done recently. No matter how careful and considerate the builders have been, their work always and unavoidably produces a lot of extra dirt and dust. For many home owners this a great time to get their carpets clean. It's a finishing touch that makes all the difference.
So if you've got a "refer a friend" card and want to get in the prize draw for this month, look around for people you know who have houses or offices undergoing renovations or other remodelling works. Give them a card, with your details filled in of course, and you never know, you could be the lucky winner.
Thanks for your help and all the best for today.

Helping You Uncover Referrals

Hi Again,
These "refer a friend" cards are already having an effect!
After just days of the new initiative, I'm being asked what kind of referrals I would like people to be passing on. The answer is really pretty simple....but I'm going to resist the temptation of saying 'anyone and anything!' That really doesn't help people at all. Instead, over coming posts I'll explain a specific situation and the reasons why our system and service is particularly suited to those circumstances. So if you want to get in the prize draw but haven't thought who you could give my card to, then keep an eye on this blog and I'll give you some hints.
In the mean time, if you haven't explored the blog, spend a few minutes checking out the archive. There are loads of tips on how to look after your carpets, photographs of our work and other useful and interesting information.
Also keep an eye out for the chance to download an extensive and absolutely invaluable tool that I'm putting together exclusively for readers of this blog.
Thank you so much for reading this and for all your custom.
All the best for today,

Refer a Friend and Win Prizes

We're launching a brand new and exciting initiative. It's called "refer a friend" and it's very simple.
In the past we've always received lots of referrals from kind and helpful clients and I thought it was about time we thanked those of you who have told your friends and family about our services and encouraged those of you who haven't done so, to start spreading the word.
So you will be given one of my new business cards, on which you will find a small form asking for your details. Fill these in and pass the card on to a friend or colleague. Tell them to present the card to me when we attend to do some work. We will then give them a replacement card, take the old one with your details back and enter your name into the monthly prize draw.
You will definitely receive a thank you and, if you're lucky, win the monthly prize.
What can you win?
It could be champagne, it could be vouchers for free cleaning of your carpets or upholstery, or it could be something completely different. You'll have to wait and see! But whatever it is, it'll be worth it.
If you don't have any cards to pass on and would like some, please feel free to contact me and I'll get some sent off to you at once.
Good luck.
Until the next time,

GB

Time Passes

So it's another Monday and no matter how fast time passes in the week, it always passes quicker at the weekends.
Now the subject of time passing quickly is really at the heart of today's post. I can't tell you how often, when we go to their houses, I hear people saying that their carpets have only recently been put down and when questioned further you find that they've been in place for 18 months, 2 years, 3 years or even longer. Now for some people the realisation that it's been so long since the carpets were installed is quite a surprise. The whole experience is still vivid in their minds. But for others it is a perfectly reasonable lapse in time before contemplating the job of cleaning their carpets.
The question to ask yourself is " If you had just put a new vinyl floor in your kitchen, would you then let a minimum of 18 months pass before giving it it's first proper clean other than just a routine sweep?" It's reasonable to assume that's not really going to be the case. OK, if you've got new carpets, you're not going to be getting the carpet cleaners in within a week of installation but from about six months onwards, you should be thinking about it.
Here are the reasons why:

  1. Carpet acts like a filter and all the dust and oily dirt in the air gets trapped in it as well as all the muck we tramp in from outside.
  2. Carpet is like a dustbin and so when you see dirt on the top of it, it means it's full up and over-flowing.
  3. Dustmites and other unwelcome visitors like bacteria, viruses and spores take up residence in this lovely warm environment.
  4. The more of all these things are in your carpet, the quicker it deteriorates and the more of a health hazard it becomes.
  5. Carpet costs a lot of money and you want it to last as long as possible and look as good as possible to get the best value from it.

So all in all it makes sense to keep an eye on the time and don't let too much of it pass before calling in the professionals.

All the best for today and until next time (it'll be here sooner than you think!), have a happy Monday.
