Hi Everyone,
It's Easter weekend and along with all the usual seasonal suspects like traffic jams and bad weather, comes the joy of over-indulging on the chocolate front.
Admit it, young or old, we all love Easter eggs. Little fingers rip open the boxes, peel off the foil wrapping, break chunks of chocolate off and then drop bits all over the carpets (to be trodden in by feet of all sizes later in the day) and smear half sucked mush over the upholstery. Chocolate heaven...not.
So if the worst happens to your carpets this coming weekend, take heed and remember how to remove chocolate from carpets and upholstery.
- Act immediately
- Remove any solid chocolate with a knife or spoon.
- Lightly spray a mist of very mild washing up detergent over the stain.
- Blot up (DO NOT RUB) with a clean towel or a kitchen paper
- Repeat until as much as possible of the stain is removed and no colouring is being transferred to the towelling
- Spray lightly with clean water
- Place a folded towel or wad of kitchen paper on the area with a large weight holding it in place and allow any excess water to wick up into it overnight.
So there you have it.... an emergency chocolate stain removal guide. If you still have problems after doing this, give us a call and we'd be glad to help.
Happy Easter.
